Tom was raised in Little Rock, Arkansas where he attended public schools from elementary school through graduation from Hall High School. He then attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where he graduated with honors. He was elected a member of Phi Beta Kappa his senior year and received the prestigious J. William Fulbright Award in history during his final semester. Tom then attended law school at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Leflar Law Center, where he was a member of the Law Review and served as an Associate Editor of the Arkansas Law Review.
Upon graduation from law school in 1975, Tom returned to Little Rock where he has actively practiced law for the past 48 years. He has developed a balanced practice over these many years by providing counsel to individuals and private businesses while undertaking litigation matters for a number of business clients in various forums and industries. This blend of business representation and litigation experience has given Tom a well balanced perspective of legal issues which has proved valuable in today's legal environment and culture. He is best known, however, for representing clients in uniquely complex litigation matters. He is rated by Martindale-Hubbell as "AV Preeminent" and has held an "AV" peer review rating for three decades.
Tom's practice is primarily concentrated in product liability litigation, healthcare litigation, contract dispute litigation as well as related business matters, and employment law. He has served his community as a board member of several organizations including service on the governing board of the Arkansas Baptist Foundation where he served as its President in 2013. Tom and his wife have two children, both residents of Little Rock. He joined the firm in January 2015 where he practices in an Of Counsel role.
